Growing up among a travelling community, Ceridwen Hazelchild developed a keen interest the beauty of rural Britain, folk tales, and the importance of caring for the world around us. After completing her degree in Contemporary Fine Art Practices from Dartington College of Arts and University College Falmouth in 2011, Ceridwen began to focus on craft based artworks which had a practical function and embodied the values that were important to her. Her hand drawn illustrations were pressed in her studio using a her trusty Heat Press, and she set about carefully stitching pencil cases, lavender bags and pouches on her Singer sewing machine. What began as a small collection of illustrated cotton tote bags aimed at reducing plastic bag usage, soon evolved into Ceridwen Hazelchild Design, which supplied handmade accessories and gifts to happy customers across the world.
