Childhood Field Studies
Drawing on notions of self analysis and the subjective nature of memory, recorded inspections of biographical childhood objects are resituated in the gallery space. Videos of the picking the seeds from strawberries, cleaning old baby teeth, and repairing a dress made for a fifth birthday party become part of an installation which continues an ongoing enquiry into personal memory within art, and explores the examination of detail and distortion when experiences are recalled, shared and analysed.
